‘Mano de Piedra’ or the ‘Bombardero de La Reina,’ as Fernando González was known in his career, boasts an extensive list of titles. As an Olympic Gold Medalist in Athens, a finalist at the Australian Open, and a winner of 11 ATP tournament titles, he is the perfect inspiration for clinic attendees, offering a glimpse into the experience they will encounter during the training days with him and his staff.
Passion, attitude, discipline, teamwork, and joy form the foundation of this school, which, alongside Fernando’s natural talent and the team’s dedication, will be present at the Buenaventura Sports Club from March 27th to 31st.
“Our methodology is centered around tactics and mobility to enhance technique. The primary objective for our entire team, including Fernando and five instructors, is to ensure that by the end of the camp, all players have reached the next level,” expressed González.
Children and young people between the ages of 7 and 18 will undergo separate training sessions tailored to their age and skill level, led by the school’s official technical team. They aim to refine their game and unleash their potential under the guidance of the former top-5 ATP player.
Adult training sessions are crafted to empower players to excel in their game and apply it effectively in tournaments, leagues, or official matches. Participants will engage in 2-hour daily training sessions under the supervision of the technical staff, with Fernando analyzing and providing guidance, focusing on technique, tactics, mentality, and performance, transitioning from refining minor aspects of the game to mastering strategic play and competing at a championship level.
On the final day, all participants will have the opportunity to play alongside González. He emphasizes that “participants should anticipate improvement; they will enjoy themselves; we aim to ensure they derive pleasure from the experience while enhancing both their technique and strategy.”
