For those who do not know him, Miguel was the General Manager for the Golf Club for approximately four years. During his tenure, the Latin American PGA tournaments were organized and the Buenaventura fairways began to gain international recognition.
āI was very surprised at how Buenaventura has evolved. The community that has been formed and the activity of the club every day,ā he commented. āI remember those early years where our forte was the weekend. Today we have action and reservations every day. Residents, club members, and foreigners enjoying the courseā.
Despite his extensive professional career, he admits that Buenaventura will always be his home. āThere is affection toward the people and the place. There has always been that good chemistry, not only with the partners and owners but especially with the people who work here. The work team is practically the same, so we will not start from scratch,ā he confessed
For this reason he praises the current state of the field and the work that Remigio and the team are doing in the maintenance. “I think we have one of the best courts not only in the country but also in the region”, recalling and highlighting the comments of the professionals who came to play the big tournaments and emphasized the difficulty presented by the wind and how it affects the conditions of play.
One of the things he enjoys is the vegetation around Buenaventura. āEspecially when you have been a participant in the planting of a lot of vegetation within the complex. I remember that with my daughter Marta, we planted a CorotĆŗ on the 16th hole a few weeks before we left. Seeing it there and how it has grown is really impressive, as is the volume that the vegetation has taken on throughout the complexā.
In addition to the management of the Golf Club, he will also resume the leadership of Ajico, the company in charge of gardening for all of Buenaventura and which was one of the projects that he began in his first term.
Miguel wants to continue the growth of the Buenaventura Golf Course. Now that he sees much more movement and understanding of post-pandemic times where people want to enjoy their free time surrounded by nature, he will continue organizing activities so that members, guests, and residents can practice not only sports but also social events so that the whole community can enjoy together.
